Over 300,000 Jeep Cherokees, Jeep Commanders, Jeep Wranglers, and Dodge Ram trucks have been recalled by Chrysler. This recall occurred in the United States due to multiple problems that have been reported in three separate cases.

More details about the recall:

295,345 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokees and 2006-2010 Jeep Commanders have been recalled because of a possible electrical failure that could potentially result in the vehicle rolling away unexpectedly.

Chrysler reports that the Cherokees in the recall were manufactured between February 11, 2004 and March 9, 2010. The Jeep Commanders were manufactured between January 31, 2005 and March 10, 2010.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that the electrical failure in the vehicle transfer case “may result in an unintentional shifting of the transfer case in the neutral position.”

They also report that the Jeeps could possibly roll away without expectation.

Chrysler has reported that they are now aware of 26 accidents and two injuries.

The transfer case is connected to the vehicles’ transmission through the drive shafts which connect the front and rear axle of a vehicle.

Chrysler is able to be reached at (800) 247-9753 with recall campaign number N23. The recall is expected to begin in June.

The adoptive parents of an 8 year old are suing for what they allege was an unnecessary gender assignment surgery done on their child. In this unprecedented case, according to ABC News, Pam and Mark Crawford of South Carolina are suing the State of South Carolina’s Department of Social Services. The child was born with both male and female genitalia, and the department made the decision in 2004 to remove the male genitalia and raise the child as a female. The Crawford’s allege that the surgery was unnecessary at the time. Now that their child is 8 years old, he has chosen to be raised as a boy.

Their lawsuit alleges that the surgery was unnecessary at the time and could have been done years later when he was old enough to make a decision concerning gender. In addition, the Crawfords were given no information before the surgery and were not included in the decision-making process. They state that they would not have consented to the surgery had they known beforehand.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has closed two investigations concerning Ford Motor Co. and Chrysler Group LLC after both made vehicle recalls earlier this year. Investigations ended earlier this month according to documents listed on the NHTSA website.

The investigation began in late 2011 when the NHTSA began investigating complaints of corrosion in 200,000 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. Ford would later recall 230,000 minivans worldwide in March because of a defect in the third-row seat, causing it be unstable and not lock into place.

For Chrysler, the NHTSA investigated complaints concerning stalling engines in Jeep Patriot SUVs. Drivers complained that the engine would stall at high speeds causing enormous concern. Chrysler would later find that the issue was confined to a smaller group of Patriot models between October 2011 and May 2012. Chrysler eventually recalled 30,000 model year 2012 Jeep Patriot and Compass vehicles.

Although the NHTSA is concluding their investigations regarding these recalls, issues may still linger in some of these affected vehicles. If issues do arise because of faulty parts or manufacturing techniques, then you must take legal action if you have been affected.

If negligence by a vehicle manufacturer has caused you to be injured or your vehicle to be damaged, then you can seek legal action. Joe Carson is prepared to represent you in a product liability case and help you settle for the amount of compensation you need.

Joe Carson understands that injuries require tremendous amounts of money for medical expenses and he wants to help you receive reimbursement for those expenses. Don’t hesitate to call Joe Carson and his staff concerning your case. You can even schedule a free case review and determine what you need to do concerning your case. Call us today at 405-397-1717.

General Motors (GM) is currently recalling 38,197 sedans due to a battery control module defect that could stall the engine or cause a fire. Among the models being recalled by GM are the Chevrolet Malibu Eco, Buick LaCrosse and Regal.

Vehicles with GM’s eAssist hybrid system manufactured between 2012 and 2013 are the models affected. The defect could cause battery power loss and result in an engine stall or fire in the trunk due to overheated parts.

Two incidents of fire in the trunk have been reported. However, no injuries have been reported due to the defect. GM is currently notifying owners of the defect and offering replacement parts for free.

GM’s recall comes amidst numerous recalls by other manufacturers regarding defective parts. The beginning of this year has been a struggle for major vehicle manufacturers as many parts have proven to be defective.

If you or someone you know owns one of the vehicles listed above and has been injured due to the battery defect, then you need to take legal action. Joe Carson, personal injury lawyer in Oklahoma City, is prepared to represent anyone affected by this recall. Product liability is a major issue and an issue Joe Carson is passionate about. He is one of Oklahoma’s leading consumer advocates.

If interested in speaking with Joe Carson about your case and how to develop a product liability claim, you can simply schedule a free consultation. Take time to sit down with Joe Carson and his legal team to discuss your options. If your case is selected, he will fight hard to recover the compensation you deserve from GM.

Start by contacting the product liability experts in Oklahoma at 405-397-1717.
